Specific Deep Dive Audits
When a particular area of your service needs focused, expert scrutiny and support through a deep dive audit goes beneath the surface to uncover what a standard review might miss. Each audit is independent, evidence-based, and delivered by someone who understands what good looks like in practice.
These audits are particularly valuable after a concern is raised, following a significant event, or when your own monitoring has flagged something that warrants a closer look from an independent eye. However, proactively looking at different areas is good practice and highlights areas that are working well and areas that need improvement before things go wrong.
Areas we audit
We offer deep dive audits across eleven key domains — each one an area where gaps in practice can have serious consequences for the people you support, your staff, and your regulatory standing.
✓ Medication management
✓ Infection prevention and control
✓ Safeguarding
✓ Care and support planning
✓ Risk management
✓ Mental Capacity Act / DoLS / consent
✓ Governance and quality assurance
✓ Incidents, accidents and learning
✓ Training, supervision and appraisal
✓ Safer recruitment
✓ Complaints and feedback
What to expect
Every deep dive audit is carried out onsite, giving us the full picture that a remote or document-only review simply cannot provide. We begin with a thorough policy review — examining the frameworks, procedures, and guidance your service operates against — and work through to direct practice observation, so that what is written and what is actually happening in your service can be properly assessed together.
Following the audit, you will receive a detailed report setting out the findings clearly and honestly, accompanied by a robust action plan that gives your team a structured, practical basis for improvement. Where you would like continued support, optional action plan reviews are available — providing independent oversight at agreed intervals to ratify progress, confirm that improvements are being embedded and sustained, and give your senior leadership team and board the external assurance they need.
